ABOUT US
We are non-speakers. We are spellers. We are parents and grandparents and siblings. We are advocates. We are a community - one that is growing slowly - one family at a time. But it's not enough. Not nearly enough.
There are over five million individuals in the USA that cannot rely on speech for communication, due to disability or other medical conditions. Our team members are dedicated to raising awareness and funding for access to spelled communication.
The Twenty-Six Foundation name was inspired by the 26 letters of the alphabet! Everyone is entitled to the freedom of speech or an alternative method that works for them.
Communication is a fundamental human right. We will work for this initiative until every word is heard.
The 2025 Spelling Scholarship application is now closed. Scholarships will be announced by the end of October!
